Stop The Sun
Terry he is a tall boy, 13 years old with a father that has Vietnam Syndrome. His
father suffers from flashbacks of terrible memories of the war and crying fits. In
the beginning of the story stop the sun written by Gary Paulsen Terry was and
embarrassed and confused about his fathers condition, but near the end once he
is told what happened he can understand why his father is the way he is.
In the beginning Terry is confused, embarrassed , and a little scared. His father
suffered from many flashbacks "his fathers fork would stop halfway to his mouth,
just stop, and there would be a long pause while his eyes went away, far
away." (639) This shows that his condition is affected himself along with the whole
family. This would create a scary and confusing situation for everyone. His father
also suffered crying fits, "he was crying, looking terrified, his breath coming in
short, hot pants like some kind of hurt animal." (640) Terry would be
embarrassed because his father was crying on the ground in such a crowded
place. He was also embarrassed because he had to comfort his father and take
him into another room to wait for his mother. Terry was very confused and
embarrassed in the begging of the book.
Terry is very curious looking for answers on why his father has Vietnam
syndrome. When Terry asked his mother. Terry was very confused and
embarrassed in the begging of the book.
Terry is very curious looking for answers on why his father has Vietnam
syndrome. When Terry asked his moms she said, "That is enough questions."(639)
Nobody wanted to answer his questions leaving him still confused but also very
curious on what happened in Vietnam. Terry was so curious that he asked his
teacher Mr. Carlson "What do you want to know about Vietnam, Terry? It was a
big war."(639) this shows that Terry was curious enough to ask his teacher about
the issue. All Mr. Carlson gave him was a book with dry facts it was not in-depth.
Throughout the middle of the story he is very curious and looking for
information but he keeps hitting dead ends.
In the end of the book Terry finally finds out what happened in Vietnam so
now he is understanding of his fathers condition. His father went through terrible
events "I hid under Jackson, half of Jackson the top half."(642) this gives Terry
some understanding on why his father is the way he is and why he has flashback
and crying fits. His father hid under Jackson because he knew the Vietcong were
coming "I knew the Vietcong would kill me when the sun came up."(642) Now
that Terry knows the whole story he is no longer embarrassed by his father and
he is no longer confused.
Terry changes a lot during the story in the beginning he is embarrassed and
confused about his fathers condition, but in the end he understands and is no
longer embarrassed.

Monsters Inc. vs. Animal Farm
Animal farm is similar to the movie Monsters Inc. This movie has some
differences but is very similar to the book Animal Farm. An example is how randle
keeps everyone inline by endusing fear into the ranks like the dogs. Randle like
the dogs is used to make sure nobody questions the leader. Another example is
how books like the farm. In the beginning of the book the animals fight for
control of the farm and they win similar to how they fight for boo and they win.
The two monsters went against the rule by taking in boo and were exiled similar
to how the animals that went against Napoleon were killed. In the book anyone
who went against Napolean was killed because they posses a threat to him
similar to how Mr. Waternuse exiled them when they took in the girl because
they posed a threat. It is very obvious in my opinion that this movie is similiar to Animal Farm.
